Christmas Program, 2018

Petersen students worked hard to present this year’s Christmas Program: A Journey to Bethlehem

Our evening together started with several musical selections. Our Upper Grade Chimes played a Christmas piece, several piano students performed their Christmas selections, and the congregation sang several Christmas carols before we were transported back to Bethlehem.

A Journey to Bethlehem is a comical retelling of the classic Christmas story, told from the perspective of a law enforcement unit attempting to piece together a string of unusual events. Our Upper Graders did a fantastic job bringing these befuddled characters to life, and reminding us all how easy it is to miss the importance of Christmas–the coming of the Christ Child–when we get lost in all the extra distractions.

The Lower Grade choir beautifully sang several Christmas selections to support the telling of the Christmas story, and to provide ambiance during set and scene changes.

The students did a fantastic job pulling the entire production together: many thanks to the teachers and volunteers who spent hours setting scene and practicing to make this great evening a success.

As is tradition, the evening ended with Christmas cookies, punch and time for visiting.
